Hlavné Námestie square — December. One of Central Europe's most charming Christmas markets. Mulled wine, halušky, local crafts. Perfect festive weekend.

The main shopping street. Fashion boutiques, European chains, cafés. Locals actually shop here — not just tourists.
Modern shopping malls on the Danube. All major brands (Zara, H&M, Apple, Sephora). Eurovea has a lovely outdoor promenade with river views.
Skip the generic souvenirs — go for Modra pottery (traditional blue ceramics), Slovak embroidery, Little Carpathian wine, or quality slivovica (plum brandy).
